The WD-1 water detector can be used in one of two ways. Firstly, it can be used for simple floor or space water presence monitoring as a leak detector. Secondly, the WD-1 can be used as a water monitoring sensor. In this mode, the water detector is placed where water will accumulate (or where water enters the growing media). Each output (solenoid or pump) on the Aqua-x system can be assigned to a specific WD-1. Whenever a solenoid or pump assigned to the WD-1 is activated by the Aqua-X system, the WD-1 must detect water within an adjustable delay time. If water is not detected (pump or solenoid failure), Aqua-x will send a user alert with a watering failure notification. Up to 25 WD-1 devices can be connected to one Aqua-X device.
To activate the new automatic fill feature on Aqua-X Pro, use two water detectors (WD-1/2). One water detector will be located in the bottom of the nutrient tank and one in the top. When the liquid level drops below the bottom sensor, Aqua-X Pro will activate a solenoid or pump and the tank will refill to the top sensor.
*WD sensors can only detect leaks from municipal water, well water, or nutrient-enriched water. Reverse osmosis / RO water may have such a low content of dissolved solids that the water detector will not be able to detect leaks from RO.
