Growth Technology pH buffers - a known solution with a specific pH value designed for checking the accuracy of pH meters and used for measuring the pH value of nutrient solution.
It is important to realize that if you do not calibrate your pH meters at regular intervals using Growth Technology Buffer 4 and 7, the accuracy of the pH values indicated by the device will be unreliable. This can lead to serious crop losses, and if this condition persists, it can lead to plant damage.
Growth Technology buffers use two values - 4 and 7 pH - to calibrate your pH testers, as they operate at the edge of the pH range you work with in hydroponics, i.e. 5.5-6.5. When used in hydroponics, it is not necessary to calibrate pH testers to a different value, as you only work in a small range of the pH scale.
When calibrating, it is advisable to use only a small sample of buffer solution in a separate container, test the meter, and then discard the solution. By discarding the used solution, you prevent potential contamination of the fresh solution and ensure a longer lifespan of the calibration solution.
