Orchids have very specific nutritional requirements. It is true that they can survive with very low levels of nutrition, but if properly fertilized, they will show us their beauty and resilience to the fullest.

Orchids should not be fertilized with universal fertilizers for "foods" for many reasons. The most important is that the nitrogen source in the product will usually contain large amounts of ammonia and urea/compost. Urea can be toxic.
