Plants use a process called photosynthesis, which converts water, sunlight, sugar, and CO2 into essential nutrients. With more CO2 in the air, plants are more active and efficient in its absorption. Faster CO2 conversion results in faster and more intensive plant growth.

Plants absorb CO2 through small pores on the underside of leaves, called stomata. When the level of CO2 is higher, plants do not have to open these pores as often or as wide, resulting in less water loss and reduced likelihood of absorbing harmful substances.

How Smart CO2 works

It contains mycelium (fungi) and a sufficient amount of organic substrate for at least 4 months. Mycelium works opposite to the plant, breathing in oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide 24 hours a day through the ventilation path on the bag. This creates a natural, self-sustaining, and cost-effective system without the smell of CO2. The Smart CO2 bag does not produce heat and produces CO2 only when activated (pierced). Simply hang it up and the bag will do its job!

How to use the Smart CO2 bag

After purchase, it is necessary to make several holes in the top of the bag and hang it in the growing space, just above the top of the plant. We recommend one CO2 bag for a 1.2 x 1.2 m area (5-15m2). Because CO2 is heavier than oxygen, it will fall down onto the plants. Once hung at the desired height, no adjustments or bag filling is necessary. Do not hang the bag near lights or other heat sources. After about 3 months of CO2 production, the bag will need to be replaced with a new one.

Good to know

The Smart CO2 bag is initially brown and will gradually turn white. This is completely normal and caused by the development of mycelium. The bag will also inflate, again a normal state. The bag works right from the start when you make holes in it.

Store in a dry and cool place at a temperature of 18°C.
