pH Regulators

For all cultivation methods: hydroponics and soil

This new concept of pH management allows you to adjust the pH, especially in the case of fast-growing plants.

As growers, we always have a wishlist, and at the very top of that list is a pH buffer that would work so well that we could go on a two-week vacation and come back to find the pH value in the nutrient solution still the same. The problem is that this can only be achieved when the nutrition is weak, when there is not much activity in the solution, and when your plants are growing at an average pace.
If the growth is fast and there is a large removal of ions and complex interactions in the solution, such stability is unthinkable. However, today we are not helpless. Today we can achieve satisfactory stability and also other advantages.
A solution with good pH management is one where you set the pH only once, at system startup. We do not claim that we have achieved exactly that, not in every situation and with every nutrient. But when it comes to pH management, which we have tried in our greenhouses using pH Down products in combination with Flora Series and Mineral Magic nutrition, plant growth has been going on for several weeks without the need for pH adjustment. In some smaller systems, the pH slightly decreases, but after adding a small amount of pH Up, it rises to the desired level again. In other cases, the pH remains very close to the almost ideal value of 6.0.
The ideal pH value is actually the most important. A high pH level promotes the intake of cations, and conversely, a low level promotes the intake of anions. So when choosing a pH, compromises must be made. Typically, a safe range with values of 5.5 to 6.5 is recommended. We advise sticking to the lower value, from 5.5 to 6.2.

pH Down - pH Buffer organically damped solution

Unlike commonly available pH regulators on the market, pH Down is not a common acid. It is a precise composition of elements that regulates, supplies nutrients, and dampens the nutrient solution all at once. Together with a balanced mixture of acids, we have incorporated buffers that are designed to stabilize pH and help control calcium content in hard water.

pH Up contains silicate

As for raising the pH value in the solution, this will be useful especially for growers using osmosis or demineralized water. This new version contains silicate, which improves the plant's environment.
The lack of silicate can be a limiting factor in hydroponics. This is because it is poorly soluble, so it is difficult to add enough to the solution. Therefore, we always add it to our products whenever possible.

Dry pH Down Is pure, concentrated, and harmless

pH regulation is a necessary practice for plant growers. It allows the availability of mineral salts and the stability of chelates, which are two primary conditions for the plant to absorb nutrients well. There are many different brands of acids on the market for this purpose, some of which are very concentrated and significantly dangerous, depending on their composition. In several countries, such as Switzerland, the handling and sale of these products are restricted by law. So to be sold, the store owner must meet a number of mandatory requirements. In addition, for stores that order products by mail and then send liquid acids by mail, it is a dangerous and risky shipment, where sometimes various postal service restrictions apply.
To find a solution to both of these problems, our scientific workers have been looking for a product that would be as effective as our traditional liquid pH Down, but at the same time would eliminate the danger to which the legislation applies.
Today, we at GHE are very pleased to offer you Dry pH Down, a new concept in pH regulation and a unique product made by us.

Dry pH Down is quite an interesting product: if it remains in a dry state, it is harmless and non-toxic and can be easily handled. However, once mixed with water, it becomes a very effective regulator for lowering pH.

Furthermore, it supplies the plant with a certain amount of necessary nutrients throughout all of its life cycles:

  • Nitrates, which the plant slowly assimilates, so they do not harm the flowering process.
  • Phosphates for flowering, but also for healthy roots, rich foliage, and harmonious growth.
  • It also contains magnesium, sulfur, and trace elements.

Dry pH Down is a very pure product. It is supplied in the form of crystals, which dissolve perfectly in water and leave no residues. It is economical and can be used for all stages of plant growth, just like our liquid pH Up and pH Down products.

The first application of this product, of course, comes with the need for pH regulation.
However, due to its strong concentration and high phosphoric acid content, it can also be used for disinfecting and cleaning cultivation systems, irrigation networks, and substrates. In homeopathic doses, it can be used as a foliar spray after treatment with insecticides. This cleans the leaves and provides nutrients to the plant.
